How to Remove a Watermark from a PDF Online

If you have added a watermark to your own PDF and need to remove it, or if you have received a draft document with a DRAFT watermark you need to clear, here's how to do it in your browser.

1

Important Note on Ownership

This guide is for removing watermarks from documents you own or have permission to edit — such as a watermark you added yourself that you need to update, or a DRAFT stamp on your own file.

2

Step 1 — Open PDF Studio

Go to pdfeditor.onl/pdf-studio and upload your PDF.

3

Step 2 — Use the Eraser Tool Over the Watermark

Select the Eraser tool and draw over the watermark text or image. The eraser replaces the selected area with white, covering the watermark.

Tip: For diagonal watermarks, make multiple eraser passes at different angles to fully cover the text. Use a large brush for quicker coverage.

Step 3 — Download the Updated PDF

Click Download PDF. The watermark area is now covered with white in the output file.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this work on all types of watermarks?

The eraser method works well on text watermarks and image watermarks visible on the page surface. Watermarks embedded as separate PDF layers may require more coverage.

Can I remove watermarks from multiple pages at once?

Currently each page is edited individually. Apply the eraser to each page that contains the watermark before downloading.

Is this free?

Yes — the eraser and all PDF Studio tools are completely free with no account needed.
