How to Compare Two Word Documents Using PDF Comparison

While Word has Track Changes, converting both documents to PDF and comparing visually catches layout differences, spacing changes, and font shifts that Track Changes misses.

1

Step 1 — Convert Both Documents to PDF

In Microsoft Word, File → Save As → PDF for each document. Or use pdfeditor.onl/convert-pdf (DOCX → PDF) for both.

2

Step 2 — Compare the Two PDFs

Go to pdfeditor.onl/compare-pdf. Upload the first DOCX-as-PDF as File A and the second as File B. Click Compare.

Tip: PDF comparison shows visual differences including layout shifts, font changes, and spacing adjustments that Word's Track Changes does not detect.

3

Step 3 — Review in Diff View

Switch to Diff view. Every changed pixel is highlighted in red — showing exactly where the documents differ, including subtle formatting changes.

Is this free?
