If a PDF form does not have a pre-printed signature line, you can add one yourself — a drawn underline with a "Signature" label — before sending it to someone to sign. Here is how to do it for free.
Go to pdfeditor.onl/pdf-studio. Upload the PDF that needs a signature line added.
Use the Line drawing tool to draw a horizontal line at the location where the signature should go. Hold Shift while drawing to ensure a perfectly horizontal line. Set the line thickness to 1–1.5pt and color to black.
Tip: Place the signature line about 8–10mm above the bottom of the intended signing area. Leave enough space above the line for the signature itself.
Use the Add Text tool to type "Signature:" or "X ________________" below the line in 8pt gray text. Optionally add a date line beside it: "Date: ___________".
For documents requiring both signature and printed name, add a second line below with "Printed Name:" label. This is standard for legal agreements and authorization forms.
Click Download PDF. Send the modified PDF to the signer. They can sign using pdfeditor.onl/sign-pdf or any other signing tool — the signature line provides the visual cue for where to sign.
Interactive signature form fields (clickable PDF signature widgets) require Adobe Acrobat Pro or a dedicated form builder. The method above adds a visual signature line — the signer uses a separate signing tool to place their signature on it.
Yes. Add as many lines and labels as needed — one set per required signer. Label them clearly: "Buyer Signature:", "Seller Signature:", "Witness:", etc.
