How to Add a Date to a PDF Online — Free

Adding a date to a PDF — whether as a signing date next to a signature, a date stamp on a document, or a date field in a form — takes only seconds without Adobe Acrobat.

1

Step 1 — Open PDF Studio

Go to pdfeditor.onl/pdf-studio and upload your PDF.

2

Step 2 — Use the Text Tool to Add the Date

Select the Text tool and click the location where you want the date. Type the date in your preferred format (e.g. 06 March 2026, or 06/03/2026).

Tip: To match professional document style, use the same font and size as surrounding text. Common formats: "Dated this 6th day of March 2026" or simply "Date: 06/03/2026".

3

Step 3 — Add a Date Stamp Style (Optional)

For a stamp appearance, use a larger bold font in red or blue and draw a border rectangle around the date text using the Annotation tool.

4

Step 4 — Download the Updated PDF

Click Download PDF. The date is permanently embedded and will appear on every device and when printed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add a date that automatically updates to today's date?

Dynamic auto-updating date fields require interactive PDF form technology. The text tool inserts a static date that you type manually — the most reliable method for documents that will be signed and stored.

Can I add a date next to each signature on a multi-page document?

Yes. Navigate to each signature page and add the date using the Text tool. All additions are saved when you download.

Is this free?

Yes — the Text tool and all PDF Studio features are completely free.
